The new school building will be U-shaped and three-storeys high, with capacity for 750 pupils. Sustainability features will include solar panels on the roof and natural ventilation.
Construction is expected to begin in March, subject to planning permission, and take a year to complete. The school is currently operating out of temporary premises on an industrial estate.
School amenities such as sports facilities, a caf茅 and computers, will be available to use by the local community in the evenings and at weekends.
BAM construction director Andrew Warwick said: 鈥淎s well as allowing pupils to move into a modern, purpose-built facility at the heart of their community, this school will also benefit the rest of the community, giving them a place to meet, learn, exercise and socialise.
鈥淏AM will, as always, work hard to ensure this scheme benefits the local community, environment and economy during construction as well as in end use.鈥
