Stephen Billingham spent the entire 1990s with Balfour Beatty鈥檚 then parent company BICC in finance roles. He was subsequently group finance director of WS Atkins (2000-04) and British Energy (2004-09) before moving into the world of non-executive directorships.
He is also currently executive chairman of pub group Punch Taverns, but will stand down from executive duties later this month.
Mr Billingham is the fourth new member of the Balfour Beatty board this year, following the appointment of Leo Quinn as chief executive in January and Philip Aiken as non-executive chairman in March. Last month Balfour Beatty also brought former Costain chief executive Stuart Doughty onto its board.
