The PBSJ Corporation became known as Atkins on 1 April. The acquisition of the engineering, planning, architecture, construction, environmental and programme management services company has given Atkins a platform for growth in the North American market.
Atkins' chief executive Keith Clarke said: "In the months since the completion of the acquisition, we have focused on ensuring our clients see the benefits of our combined expertise and track record in delivering some of the world's most complex and technically challenging infrastructure projects. Our strength lies in our experienced North American management team and our ability to use our international experience to embed innovative solutions in the US market."
Atkins has about 18,000 employees, including more than 3,700 full- and part-time, in North America.
