The Hadid-designed Naples-Afragola high-speed railway station will be built under a €61m contract, which covers the building and associated rail systems. Client for the scheme is Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group – known as Italferr – and the funds are already available. The work is scheduled to begin in the coming days, after the signing of the contract, with a duration of about two years.
Astaldi has also won a €52m contract for dredging works in the Port of Taranto as part of a port authority plan to modernise the container terminal area. It involves increasing the depth of water by more than 2.5m and reclaiming the contaminated sediments.
Another new contract is a €45m project for the Monte Nieddu Dam in Sardinia. It includes construction of a dam reaching a maximum height of 75m and the electro-mechanical works for the project. The Client is a public body, Consorzio di Bonifica Sardegna Meridionale, and the 42-month contract is scheduled to begin next month.
Astaldi’s new crop of contracts also includes €30m for work on Angelini Group’s offices in Rome. Work will begin next month.Â
