The Hadid-designed Naples-Afragola high-speed railway station will be built under a 鈧�61m contract, which covers the building and associated rail systems. Client for the scheme is Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group 鈥� known as Italferr 鈥� and the funds are already available. The work is scheduled to begin in the coming days, after the signing of the contract, with a duration of about two years.
Astaldi has also won a 鈧�52m contract for dredging works in the Port of Taranto as part of a port authority plan to modernise the container terminal area. It involves increasing the depth of water by more than 2.5m and reclaiming the contaminated sediments.
Another new contract is a 鈧�45m project for the Monte Nieddu Dam in Sardinia. It includes construction of a dam reaching a maximum height of 75m and the electro-mechanical works for the project. The Client is a public body, Consorzio di Bonifica Sardegna Meridionale, and the 42-month contract is scheduled to begin next month.
Astaldi鈥檚 new crop of contracts also includes 鈧�30m for work on Angelini Group鈥檚 offices in Rome. Work will begin next month.聽
