The report outlining the social costs and benefits of hosting the Olympics in Netherlands in 2028 has been presented to the Dutch Second Chamber of Parliament, Tweede Kamer.
The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) invited Rebel and Arup to develop an evaluation instrument to monitor the social costs and benefits of the Netherlands 2028 Olympic and Paralympic games. The information will be used in deciding whether or not to bid.
Potential changes in circumstance – such as economic developments, revenue from new media and the threat of terrorism – also need to be taken into account to assist the Netherlands in progressing to a decision.
