The US$22m (拢13.5m) contract is part of the US$1bn redevelopment of Middle Harbor. The nine-year project will upgrade wharfs, water access and storage areas and add a greatly expanded on-dock rail yard. Buildings will be constructed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building standards. The new terminal will move twice the cargo while generating half the air pollution.
Arcadis will provide full construction management services including constructability reviews,聽 scheduling, estimating, cost controls, construction oversight and inspection for the first phase of the programme.
