Daniel Pratt (20) from West Lothian, who works as an apprentice for Hewden Hire Edinburgh was presented with the accolade of Apprentice of the Year, as well as Plant Mechanics Year 2 Award. He was among 27 apprentices honoured at the prestigious ceremony, which was attended by industry representatives, local employers and friends and family.
The awards, which are in their 12th year, were organised by the National Construction College - the training division of CITB-ConstructionSkills - to recognise and reward the hard work, expert skill and determination of its apprentices.聽
The ceremony was opened by Judy Lowe, Deputy Chairman of CITB-ConstructionSkills and Andy Walder, Director of the National Construction College. Guest speaker, professional county and England cricketer, Geoff Miller, also captivated the audience with tales of his rise to success, through his career as an outstanding sportsman.聽
