By fuel switching over the previous twelve months, Apollo and Sustain Services were eligible to access the sought after funding that will bring benefits for both Roddons and its residents at Asplin Avenue and North Drive, March.
The installation of 36 systems will secure the current Feed In Tariff (FIT) rate, which will see residents receive up to 拢240 of free green electricity every year for 25 years.
The panels will also generate an annual FIT income for Roddons of more than 拢33,000 based on 2011/2012 tariff tables, which means the housing association will raise almost 拢1m for further investment in their communities over the 25 year period.
Robert Stevenson, (Acting) Assistant Director of Property Services from Roddons, part of Circle Housing Group, commented:
鈥淭his is a win-win for everyone 鈥 residents save money on their energy; we gain extra vital funds for further community investment; and the impact of these properties on the environment is reduced.聽 Installation of the panels means a better SAP rate for the properties and a saving of 39 tonnes each year on our CO2 emissions, which equates to an impressive 975 tonnes across the lifetime of the scheme.鈥
Kurt Mason, Apollo Divisional Manager, agrees:
鈥淭his programme of works is good news all round.聽 Not only does Roddons have the cost of installation covered by the identified funding supplier, but they also get an income from the new panels.聽 Apollo is delighted to have created this opportunity for Roddons and their residents and we look forward to working with Sustain to deliver the programme of works over the next few months.鈥
