A-Plant rental revenues rise 10%

2 Sep 15 A-Plant’s parent company Ashtead has reported a 20% rise in first-quarter revenues and 23% rise in pre-tax profits for the three months that ended 31st July 2015.

Ashtead鈥檚 US plant and equipment hire business, Sunbelt, accounts for most of the group鈥檚 revenue and profits, but A-Plant also had a strong first quarter.

Sunbelt鈥檚 revenue for the three month period was 拢528.6m (2014 Q1: 拢376.7m) and operating profit was 拢166.2m (2014 Q1: 拢122.1m).

A-Plant's total revenue increased 11% to 拢90m (2014 Q1: 拢81m). Revenue from rentals was up 10% to 拢65m (2014 Q1: 拢59m). Yield was flat but there was 10% more fleet out on hire. Despite some uncertainty around the general election, markets continue to improve, the board said.聽 聽聽

A-Plant鈥檚 operating profit for the three months was 拢17.0m (2014 Q1: 拢13.7m) giving it an operating margin of 18.9%, up from 16.9% for the same period last year.
