Vinci UK's turnover dropped 17% to 拢1.16bn in 2009, despite the addition of a full year's turnover from Taylor Woodrow.
Pre-tax profit was down fractionarlly at 拢15.4m, compared to 拢16.2 million in 2008
Vinci's cash deposits rose to 拢147m in 2009, but lower interest rates reduced it earnings on these funds to 拢2m from 拢9m in 2008.
The UK division of the French construction giant described trading conditions as 鈥渄ifficult鈥�.
It added: 鈥淭he outlook for 2010 remains difficult, but we believe Vinci remains in a strong position to ride out the downturn.鈥�
