Morgan Est, the infrastructure division of Morgan Sindall, has been awarded two water contracts through the AMP5 (Asset Management Period) programme, worth a total of 拢190m.

The firm has been retained as a capital delivery partner by Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water). Work on the programme will commence on 1 April 2010.

The five-year framework will involve design and build works for both clean and wastewater programmes throughout South Wales. The works follow on from the AMP4 programme, where Morgan Est delivered a 拢130m wastewater capital programme in South East Wales. The contractor is currently delivering Welsh Water鈥檚 Advanced Digestion programme valued at 拢75m.

Morgan Est has also been chosen, with joint venture partner Grontmij, by Yorkshire Water for its AMP5 programme. The five-year contract is worth around 拢60m to Morgan Est and work will commence next month.

The project includes improvement works to clean and waste water treatment works including civil, process, mechanical and electrical engineering works from investigation and feasibility to commissioning and handover. This framework award further enhances Morgan Est鈥檚 relationship with Yorkshire Water, which has been developed through the last two AMPs.

Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall, said: 鈥淭he appointments underlines Morgan Est鈥檚 strength and expertise as one of the country鈥檚 leading water and infrastructure specialists.鈥
