A Laing O'Rourke team has signed a deal with Scottish Water to deliver 拢450m of work on its Capital Investment Programme from April 2010 onwards.
The Thistle Water consortium, made up of Jacobs UK, Laing O鈥橰ourke Infrastructure and Veolia Water UK, will form a joint venture with Scottish Water.
The team will work on water and waste water treatment facilities and infrastructure during the 2010 to 2015 investment period, when Scottish Water is investing 拢2.5bn in its infrastructure.
Scottish government minister for infrastructure, transport and climate change Stewart Stevenson welcomed the joint venture. He said: 鈥淭his will enable Scottish Water - which plays a vital role in protecting public health, improving the environment and enabling development - to roll out its new investment programme and further support Scotland鈥檚 economic recovery.鈥
Steve Hollingshead, Laing O鈥橰ourke鈥檚 managing director of infrastructure services said: 鈥淲e look forward to serving each and every community quickly and efficiently.鈥
