Airport operator BAA has signed an 拢800m contract with HETco, a Laing O鈥橰ourke / Ferrovial Agroman joint venture, for the construction of a new Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport.
The work includes excavation of the site, building the terminal鈥檚 foundations, and a main structure of about 40,000 sq m.
HETco will also build the roof and facade of the terminal and 10 aircraft parking stands. It will also be responsible for the coordination of the baggage systems and the information control systems, both within the new terminal and the whole airport鈥檚 network.
Heathrow鈥檚 original Terminal 2 closed in November after 54 years of service.
BAA is owned by Ferrovial.
