28 Sep 10 Galliford Try has agreed a deal to operate, manage and maintain an energy centre and district heating scheme at the UK's first major zero carbon housing development.

Galliford Try has agreed a deal to operate, manage and maintain an energy centre and district heating scheme at the UK's first major zero carbon housing development.

The group's renewables business has signed an Energy Service Company (ESCo) contract for the scheme at Graylingwell Park in West Sussex.

The ESCo is for a 25-year concession expected to generate total revenues of around 拢18m.

Galliford Try has also been awarded the 拢8m contract to design and build the energy centre and district heating scheme. Work includes the mechanical and electrical fit-out of the centre and installation of associated cabling and heating mains.

Graylingwell Park is a mixed use development being built by the Linden Downland Graylingwell LLP, a joint venture between Galliford Try and affordable housing provider Affinity Sutton for the Homes and Communities Agency.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: "We have a growing business in renewable energy provision and securing this contract for the long term supply to Graylingwell Park demonstrates our capability in this growth market."
