Tony Douglas, the former chief operating officer of Laing O鈥橰ourke, has been named CEO of the Abu Dhabi Ports Company.
He will oversee construction of the 拢4.5bn Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone, a 40,000-hectare development that is scheduled to start operations in 2012.
Douglas left Laing O鈥橰ourke, the UK's largest privately-owned construction company, in November 2009.
He joined the contractor in 2007 from BAA, where he was chief executive of Heathrow Airport.
