Fairfax has ordered 30 of the Cat 308E eight-tonners.
Initial feedback from customers has been 鈥渧ery positive鈥�, Fairfax said, and it 聽expects all 30 excavators to be out on hire later this year.
鈥淥ur investment in the CAT 308E is a significant change for Fairfax Plant Hire Ltd as the steel tracks with rubber pad inserts will improve the lifetime costs of the machines over traditional rubber tracked excavators,鈥� said managing director Mark Love.
