An established construction company based north of Watford just outside the M25, recognised for its expertise in groundworks, reinforced concrete frames, civil engineering, and demolition is looking to take on a dynamic Senior Estimator.
As the Senior Estimator you will be expected to:
- Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to generate thorough cost estimates.
- Create comprehensive cost estimates for all phases of construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Recognise potential risks and challenges within the project and factor them into the cost estimation process.
- Keep comprehensive records of estimates, contracts, and other relevant documents for future reference and accountability.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market shifts, and competitor pricing to ensure our estimates remain competitive and up-to-date.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids and tenders, adhering to company standards and meeting client specifications.
- Suggest cost-saving strategies and value engineering options that maintain high quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to gather necessary information for precise cost estimations.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the company receives the best possible value.
- Track and manage project budgets, providing regular updates to ensure projects stay within financial limits.

What the ideal candidate will have:
- A degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- Ability to show previous experience gained in working on infrastructure projects
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- A full UK driving license
