Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join their growing team, contributing to the continued success of their brand.
Job Summary:
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), relays, and metering systems. The role involves troubleshooting, testing, and ensuring systems work safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and Maintain:
- Set up and maintain MV/LV switchgear, transformers, ATS systems, relays, and metering devices.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure proper operation.
- Troubleshoot and Repair:
- Diagnose electrical issues in MV/LV systems and fix faults or malfunctions.
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters) to locate and resolve problems.
- Testing and Commissioning:
- Test and commission electrical equipment to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Work with engineers to verify system functionality.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Follow maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failures.
- Monitor and analyze data from metering systems to detect potential issues early.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety regulations and standards.
- Use proper safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) during work.
- Documentation:
- Keep detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, ATS, relays, and metering.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems and electrical testing.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot issues.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
